Arsenal are once again reportedly plotting to bid £10m for former Gunner, Oguzhan Ozyakup.

Ozyakup is still at Besiktas, where he’s been since he left Arsenal in 2012.

Every so often the Gunners are linked with a return for the midfielder and it seems this season is no different. In fact, Arsenal are allegedly willing to pay £10m to bring the 25-year-old back to north London.

According to reports from Turkey (via talkSPORT), Ozzie could be a replacement for Mesut Ozil if the German leaves.

Ozzie signed for Besiktas for just £400k five years ago, so you have to imagine that if Arsenal really are willing to pay £10m for him, the Turkish side would find it hard to turn that sum down. That’s a £9.6m profit.

The midfielder only ever made two appearances for Arsenal’s senior team during his time in London (2008 – 2012) and that was in the League Cup. However, he’s gone on to become one of Bestikas’ key players, featuring 195 times in all competitions, scoring 27 goals and assisting 44.

This season, Ozzie’s yet to find the back of the net but he’s provided two assists.

The Turkey international’s contract runs out at the end of the season, so presumably Arsenal would be offering this reported £10m in January then?
