Arsenal are reportedly ready to battle three other Premier League clubs in order to sign Dutch wonderkid, Alessio Da Cruz.

Brighton, Southampton, Swansea and Arsenal are allegedly ready to battle it out for Da Cruz, a Dutch forward who only joined Serie B side Novara this season.

The 20-year-old can either play out wide or as a striker, and has netted five goals in 12 appearances this term.

Da Cruz, who was scouted by Ajax at the age of just 10, came through the ranks at FC Twente but caught the eye of Novara while on loan at FC Dordrecht last term. He’s now in Italy until June 2020 if he sees out his contract, which doesn’t seem lucky if all the fuss surrounding him is warranted.

Last season, the forward made 38 appearances across all competitions for his loan team, 28 of which were in the Jupiler League, where he scored six goals and provided two assists.

If Arsenal are going to make any signings in January, it’s far more likely that we’d add to our youth side than bring a big name on board. That’s just not what Arsene Wenger does, since he doesn’t agree with the existence of the January window in the first place.

Not that we’re definitely interested in signing Da Cruz of course but I’d be far more included to put money on Wenger signing him than someone like Thomas Lemar.
