Arsenal are reportedly set to announce the appointment of Barcelona’s former director of football, Raul Sanllehi, imminently.

Several rumours have been circling this week regarding Arsenal’s apparent backroom shuffle and the latest claim is that the Gunners are set to announce the appointment of Sanllehi very soon.

According to Goal, the former Barcelona director of football will be given the same title in north London and will replace Dick Law, who was first reported to be leaving the club in September.

If the reports are true, Sanllehi, who the Metro describe as a ‘mastermind’ who brought Neymar to Camp Nou, will be joined by Borussia Dortmund’s Sven Mislintat as head of recruitment and potentially Michael Zorc.

Mislintat has been credited with finding such gems as Robert Lewandowski and Shinji Kagawa, while Zorc helped to develop Marco Reus for the Bundesliga club.

Whether all these appointments are going to happen or not, it does seem the intent is very much there and all this talk of a backroom shuffle over the summer appears to be happening now. Potentially, this is all set to be made in time for the January window, although in my opinion this could be Arsenal finally starting to prepare for life after Arsene Wenger.
