Arsenal could try and bring Paris Saint-Germain’s Julian Draxler in on a loan deal, as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez.

According to L’Equipe via Football.London Arsenal, among other teams, have spoken to PSG about the possibility of a loan move for Draxler in January. The incentive for the 24-year-old is to get him some game time ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia without the French club having to let him go for good.

Draxler has repeatedly stated that he doesn’t plan to leave Paris, specifically saying that he’s not thinking about a departure in the next two windows.

Considering PSG are six points clear at the top of Ligue 1, and three points clear of Bayern Munich atop of their Champions League group, it wouldn’t be ridiculous for him to expect trophies at the end of the season. As a result, I believe he could stick around.

Playing in the World Cup and helping Germany defend their title would likely mean even more to Draxler than a league title, but as long as he’s still in the first-team for his current club I wouldn’t count on him forcing a move – even for the sake of a spot in the international team.
