Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas continues to be watched by Arsenal, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish outlet Diario Gol claim that Arsenal and Liverpool are both following the player, and with fears about his future in Madrid, Navas asked Paolo Wanchope about what life is like in England, reports Tribal Football.

The Costa Rica international remains Real Madrid’s first-choice goalkeeper, although a recent injury has caused him to miss the last few games.

However, he’s only kept four clean sheets in 12 matches as Madrid have made a relatively poor start to the season, so the club may end up looking to move him on if things don’t improve.

For now, Navas still has a contract until 2020, so there’s no real rush for him to move on, unless they pursue David De Gea or Thibaut Courtois again.

Arsenal have struggled with goalkeepers recently, with both Petr Čech and David Ospina making mistakes to concede goals, before Ospina got himself injured and left Matt Macey to deputise for a couple of games.

Keylor Navas is certainly a good keeper, and although he’s now in his thirties, he’s still a few years younger than Čech was when he joined Arsenal.

I think it’d be hard to lure Navas away from a starting position with the European Champions, but as mentioned, that could well change if the team’s form continues, so we’ll have to wait and see.
