Joe Willock has put pen to paper on a new, long-term deal with Arsenal.

The 18-year-old, who’s made five appearances for the first team this season, has signed a new, long-term contract with Arsenal.

The midfielder has been exciting to watch develop over the past couple of months. He’s mature beyond his years and put in a particularly strong performance against Red Star Belgrade on Thursday night.

The teenager also featured against BATE Borisov, Red Star away and Norwich City during the Gunners’ nervy 2-0 victory in the Carabao Cup last week.

This week, Willock received a call-up for England’s u19 squad for their Euro qualifiers. The Young Lions face Iceland, Faroe Islands and Bulgariaon 8, 11 and 14 of November.

The youngster is yet to represent his country in anything more than friendlies so this will be a fantastic opportunity to show what he’s made of.

It’s fantastic to see Arsenal tying down these promising young players. Willock has impressed and it’s only right that he should be rewarded for his work in the first team this term.

Willock’s also made six appearances for the reserves in Premier League 2 this season, scoring once.
