Arsenal will make Borussia Dortmund’s Michael Zorc their new sporting director, according to reports while others claim they have agreed a six-figure sum for .

The 55-year-old Zorc holds a similar position at Borussia Dortmund, where he oversees the club’s transfer strategy and the appointment of new managers.

According to the Mirror, he’s now the favourite to become Arsenal’s sporting director, a newly-created position designed to assist Arsene Wenger.

This isn’t the first time Zorc’s name has been linked with the role. Back in May, the Telegraph reported that Arsenal had sounded out his interest in coming to England.

While Arsenal seem to be looking for someone to fill the role, who it’ll be seems to be anyone’s guess.

The Metro reported in October that Arsenal were talking with Barcelona’s Raul Sanllehi, while Transfer Market Web seemed convinced that former winger Marc Overmars was going to get the role.

The actual title of the role and its responsibilities has yet to be confirmed, according to this report in the Mirror.

All we know is that Arsenal have been looking at several candidates as part of an ongoing recruitment drive being headed by Ivan Gazidis.

Dick Law, the club’s transfer negotiator, has already left, while chief scout Steve Rowley could also step aside to make way for someone new.

New like who?

How about the man credited with spotting Lewandowski, Kagawa and Aubameyang…

Bild claim that Mislintat will join Arsenal after the club agreed a fee with Dortmund.

Interesting times indeed. Perhaps Ivan’s catalyst just got stuck…
