Former Tottenham midfielder Darren Anderton believes Spurs will beat Arsenal despite the threat of Alexis Sanchez and Alexandre Lacazette.

Like most people not associated with Arsenal, Anderton thinks that Tottenham will win on Saturday.

He has every reason to be confident, given the state of the two teams currently and Tottenham’s recent record in North London derbies.

Arsenal are hardly firing on all cylinders at the moment, even with their best players on the pitch.

Anderton admitted that Alexis Sanchez and Alexandre Lacazette could cause Spurs problems, but expects his old side to come out on top.

“Sanchez and Lacazette work hard, if you’re not concentrating for the full 90 minutes, Arsenal will take advantage of that,” Anderton told Betsafe (via the Daily Star).

“I think Spurs will have a lot of possession and that’s when defensively they’ve got to be aware of those sorts of players.

“I think it will be an open game, and can go either way. I’ve got a sneaky feeling Spurs will go there and win.

“I think the way they’re playing at the moment and the fact that a few of their key players have had a little break the last couple of weeks, they’ll be firing on all cylinders.

“I think it will be an entertaining game, and the way that Spurs are playing at the moment will be too much for Arsenal.”

Going by Spurs’ recent games against the top sides, it’s going to be anything but an open game.

Their approach this season has been to sit deep and look for counter attackers.

It’s worked very well for them, as they’ve gotten wins over Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid.

If they use the same approach at the Emirates, Arsenal could be seeing a lot of the ball.

Given Arsenal’s notorious vulnerability to counter attacks, that might not be such a good thing.

We’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed that Alexis, Lacazette, and everyone else starting on Saturday put in a great performance.
