While the fact that Granit Xhaka has already had the most touches in the Premier League this season probably won’t surprise you, the second Arsenal player to get into the top 10 might.

Xhaka tops the table for the most touches in the Premier League so far this season with 705. With seven games already played, that’s over 100 per match.

Unfortunately, however, despite having the most touches, the 25-year-old hasn’t done a whole lot with them. Granted, he’s managed two assists but these both came in the opening game of the season against Leicester, which also saw him responsible for at least one of the Foxes’ three goals.

Since that first game, he’s created six chances.

At the other end of the spectrum comes the player who’s has the 10th-most touches this season: Nacho Monreal.

That’s right, the Spaniard hasn’t just been a beast at the back, making goal-line clearances in the Europa League, he’s been getting involved all over the pitch. He even scored against Brighton.

The left-back-turned-centre-back has taken 599 touches in the Premiership alone.

The 31-year-old has probably been Arsenal’s best player of the season so far. Not just in the Premier League but across all competitions. He’s definitely been the most consistent, which as we all know is a bit of an issue for Arsene Wenger’s side.
