Ian Wright feels Arsene Wenger is wrong about Alexandre Lacazette.

The manager has been cautious with Lacazette’s playing time this season due to the French striker’s need to settle in. However, Wright disagrees with Wenger about how much the club’s record signing needs to adapt.

“Arsene Wenger thinks Lacazette needs to settle,” Wright told BBC Radio 5 Live via the Sports Review. “But me as a striker watching him, I am very excited by him and I don’t think he is someone who needs to settle. Wenger can let him go [play].”

Lacazette has started every Premier League for Arsenal so far, but has only completed one of them. He played 90 minutes in the 4-3 win over Leicester, but has been withdrawn in the second half of every game since.

Wenger’s insistence of giving Olivier Giroud minutes off the bench could be hindering Lacazette’s form in front of goal. The 26-year-old has scored four goals for the club, all at the Emirates Stadium.

Away from home in the league, where Arsenal have yet to win, he hasn’t been able to score. Even when we’re chasing a goal, he still gets taken off. Lacazette should, eventually, be playing 90 minutes in every game for the club, in my opinion.

His move from Lyon was the first move of his career, and it’d be understandable if he needs time to settle off the pitch. On the pitch, however, there’s little reason why he can’t complete more games.
