Anthony Martial is happy at Manchester United despite not being a regular in the starting lineup, and is reportedly keen to stay at Old Trafford amid Arsenal interest.

The French forward was linked with Arsenal amid concerns that he wasn’t getting enough playing time at United. However, according to Manchester Evening News, the 22-year-old is happy and settled at the club and won’t be pushing for a move away.

Martial isn’t a starter for United currently and has seen his playing time shared with Marcus Rashford. Despite that, he’s managed five goals and five assists, and appears to be making the most of any opportunity he gets off the bench.

Martial had been named as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez. The Arsenal forward looks set to leave the club when his contract expires in the summer. Arsenal will certainly need to replace him, but will have to look elsewhere I feel.

The likelihood of signing Martial was always very low, given Jose Mourinho’s relationship with Arsene Wenger and his extreme reluctance to give him any players. Mourinho prevented Demba Ba from joining Arsenal on loan in 2013, and was also against Petr Cech joining the club in 2014.

It stands to reason that he wouldn’t give an exciting young forward in Martial, either.
