Olympique Marseille are still interested in signing Arsenal striker Lucas Perez, according to latest reports.
The French club were interested in the Spanish forward during the summer but missed out. Lucas was keen on returning to his home town club, Deportivo La Caruna, after a frustrating year without first-team football at Arsenal.
He eventually got his move when the Gunners and Deportivo agreed a loan deal without an obligation to buy. With Lucas set to return to the Emirates Stadium next season, that could present an opening for Marseille to exploit.
According to Le 10 Sport via Tribal Football, the Ligue 1 club are already drawing up plans to sign Lucas in the summer. Marseille currently sit third in the Ligue 1 table, having won five of their first eight games.
Former Spurs forward Clinton N’Jie is their current top scorer, with five goals. Lucas, meanwhile, hasn’t had the easiest of returns to Spain. Deportivo have won just two games so far. Lucas has appeared in five games, scoring just the one goal so far.
He scored 17 goals for the club before he joined Arsenal last summer. He made 21 appearances for Arsenal, scoring seven goals, including a hat-trick in the Champions League against Basel.
