Three Arsenal loanees played a part in Saturday’s matches, of the six players available for selection.

Joel Campbell, Stephy Mavididi and Takuma Asano all got some time on the pitch, whilst Marc Bola and Emi Martinez were unused substitutes, and Cohen Bramall missed out after appearing for the u23s on Friday.

Joel Campbell was making his first start of the season after returning from injury. Joel came off the bench to score and assist in a 6-3 loss to Valencia last week, but this time around things were far less eventful. Campbell played 62 minutes of Real Betis’ 2-0 win over Alavés. Hopefully, he can continue to build his minutes from now until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Stephy Mavididi came on for Preston with the Championship side 2-0 down to Wolves in the 61st minute. Wolves scored again to make it three, but after that Preston started to mount a comeback, scoring two before they were reduced to 10 men late on.

Takuma Asano started for Stuttgart as they lost 1-0 to RB Leipzig, but he also didn’t complete the full 90 minutes as he was substituted in the 65th.

Bristol Rovers lost 1-0 as Marc Bola missed out on a start for the first match in four.

Emi Martinez sat on the bench again for Getafe as they drew 1-1.

Cohen Bramall got some action for Birmingham u23s on Friday, playing 90 minutes as they lost 2-1 to Barnsley u23s. Cohen is still yet to play for Birmingham’s first team since Harry Redknapp was sacked.
