Marc Bola’s loan to Bristol Rovers continues to look like a good one as he gets a run of games, but Arsenal’s other loanees weren’t so lucky on Saturday.
Bola started in Rovers 1-0 loss to Oxford United, and played the full 90 minutes for the side. That makes it eight matches that Bola has started for his new team, all of which he has completed without being substituted.

More impressively, he’s now only missed one of the last seven matches in all competitions, so the full-back seems close to becoming a nailed on starter for the League One outfit.
In stark contrast, Emi Martinez is still yet to play a single competitive match for Getafe. The Spanish side lost 2-1 to Real Madrid and Martinez was once again an unused substitute. The longer he goes without an appearance, the more Getafe seem like a strange choice of team for a loan.

Meanwhile, Stephy Mavididi also wasn’t given a chance as Preston North End drew with Fulham. Mavididi scored two goals for the England u20s in midweek, but that wasn’t enough to convince Alex Neil to bring him off the bench.
In fairness, Preston already had a 2-0 lead until late on, when Fulham struck twice to snatch a draw, so Mavididi probably wasn’t what they need to secure the win.
