Alex Iwobi believes that Arsenal will suffer a huge setback if they lose both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

Iwobi reckons that, when fit, Alexis and Ozil are unstoppable. The 21-year-old claims that either one can turn a game or even season on its head and that’s why Arsenal can’t afford to lose them.

“When they are fit they are unstoppable. They are both capable of changing a game — or a season,” said Iwobi.

“They have a big decision to make. But it would be a huge setback to lose them because from the stats you can see we do need them for their  goals and assists.

“For a team like Arsenal, we need to be aiming for the top four and we need what they bring.

“It will be great for them to stay. I’ve learnt a lot from them.”

Unfortunately for Iwobi, it’s looking increasingly likely that the Gunners will lose both 28-year-olds if not in January, next summer.

While Alexis always seemed as if he couldn’t wait to leave, Ozil appeared the more likely to stay put, but it now looks as if the Germany international could also be heading for the exit on a free once the 2017/18 season draws to a close.

It’s possible that Iwobi already knows this but, when asked, he can’t exactly reveal that Arsenal are definitely losing two of their best players.

Saying that, I’m not sure I can imagine the forward sitting down with Alexis and Ozil in the dressing room and asking them to tell him personally what they’re doing with their futures. So maybe he genuinely doesn’t know.

Iwobi is currently away with the Nigeria national team. The young winger scored his country’s winner against Zambia on Saturday night, which sends his side through to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
