The latest rumour doing the rounds is that Arsenal want to sign Manchester United forward Anthony Martial in order to replace Alexis Sanchez.

Arsenal have been linked with a £50m move for Martial next summer as they look to replace Alexis, who seems to already have one foot out the door.

United signed the 21-year-old in 2015 for a reported £58m when he was just a teenager playing for Monaco. However, under Jose Mourinho, the Frenchman is struggling for starts. In fact, he’s only made one in the Premier League so far this season.

Despite this, he’s still managed to net five goals and assisted six.

It’s no secret that United fans love Martial. Therefore, when the rumour emerged that Arsene Wenger might be about to make a swoop for their guy, they didn’t take it too well.

Most dealt with the reports, which are pretty likely to be complete nonsense, by resorting to humour and simply trying to laugh them off the internet.

Meanwhile, although Gooners wouldn’t mind Martial, especially as a replacement for Alexis who’s only scored once this term, most realise that this isn’t going to happen. Why would United sell their rival an up-and-coming player who’s been compared to Thierry Henry? They wouldn’t.
