There have been strong rumours that Mesut Ozil could be joining Manchester United.

The German is out of contract in the summer and could soon reunite with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

Despite the prospect of another top player departing for a rival, the Arsenal fans don’t appear to be too disappointed by the news.

As for the United fans, there’s a recurring theme to their reaction: they don’t want a lazy player in their team.

Ozil has come under heavy criticism from the fans and press for his work rate and defensive efforts in an Arsenal shirt.

The perception is that he’s not fully committed to the Arsenal cause and is shirking his on-pitch duties.

Martin Keown has been especially stinging in his criticism, as he believes Ozil has mentally checked-out of Arsenal.

Jose Mourinho has a reputation for disliking lazy players, as he requires every player to put in a defensive shift.

However, he did work with Ozil at Real Madrid, and knows all about the ability he possesses.

Ozil appeared as a second-half substitute in the 2-1 defeat against Watford. It was his first appearance in several weeks as he overcame a knee injury.

He’s expected to be involved in the game against Everton on Sunday.
