Former Inter Milan midfielder Nicola Berti is eyeing up Alexis Sanchez for a move from North London to the San Siro.

Berti was speaking to Italian outlet Rai Sport about the business Inter Milan should be doing over the next couple of windows. The Nerazzurri are currently second in the Serie A, but Berti wants the club to aim even higher by signing Alexis Sanchez.

The 50-year-old said: “I would like to see Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal. He is a true champion, capable of making a difference for at least three or four years … and what a partner he would be for Mauro Icardi.”

Inter haven’t had much trouble scoring goals so far this season, with 17 in their first eight matches. Although that’s actually the lowest total of the clubs in the top-four, with Napoli managing 26 and Lazio and Juventus on 21.

Alexis could potentially help them to improve this. Although he only has one goal for the Gunners in seven appearances so far, he scored 30 in 2016/17 playing up front. Icardi would be a fantastic partner for any forward on current form, given he has nine goals in eight matches in Serie A, including a hat-trick in last week’s Milan derby.

Arsenal would do well to find a foreign suitor for the Chilean, given the alternative appears to be letting him join Manchester City, either in January or on a free next summer. So if Inter were interested, the move could be in the interests of both parties.
