Arsenal have won their last 13 matches in all competitions at the Emirates.

The Gunners marked their 13th consecutive home win in all competitions on Saturday afternoon after they defeated Swansea 2-1.

This is the longest they’ve ever gone without losing at current home ground and considering Arsenal moved into the Emirates in 2006, this is a pretty impressive record to set.

It’s unusual because while Arsenal fans realise that Arsene Wenger’s side have been poor on the road this season, they’ve also seemed pretty uninspiring at home. In fact, for several seasons now, the Gunners have been defeated by the likes of Blackburn Rovers, Watford and Swansea on their turf. Therefore, I was personally pretty surprised when I read that we’ve managed to string 13 home wins together.

Arsenal have now won six in the Premier League this season, drawn one and lost three, which puts them level with Chelsea in fourth.

Meanwhile, Manchester City, who the Gunners face next, are flying. They’re currently unbeaten and have won nine out of the 10 matches played. Arsenal have been victorious just once on the road this term (against Everton), so the odds are definitely stacked against them.

Oh well, we have nothing to lose. Perhaps we can give everyone a shock.
