Arsenal reportedly make official bid for Trabzonspor attacking midfielder

Arsenal have reportedly made an official €16m offer for Trabzonspor’s Yusuf Yazici.

Despite earlier reports claiming that Manchester United were the main club interested in the attacking midfielder, Turkish outlet Habertürk claim that Arsenal have made the first move and put in an official offer of €16m for Yusuf Yazici.

Apparently, Yazici would rather sign for the Gunners and our offer has allegedly been ‘met with excitement’.

However, Trabzonspor are supposedly keen to hold onto the 20-year-old until next summer at least.

The Turkey international still has five years left on his current deal.

He’s made seven appearances this season and assisted two goals having broke into the first team last season, making a total of 22 appearances across all competitions. He also scored six goals and assisted 10.

Yazici has been at Trabzonspor for the duration of his career so far. He joined them in 2008 when he would have been just 11 years old and he’s represented Turkey from an u19 level.

€16m – or £14.4m – is a considerable amount of money for a young player who most Arsenal fans probably won’t have heard a great deal about. Therefore, it could be a risky move. In there’s any truth to the report, it’s no wonder that the Gunners’ alleged offer was met with excitement…
