Arda Turan is reportedly set to leave Barcelona in January and, of course, Arsenal are said to be on alert since they were heavily linked with him over the summer.

Turan was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal over the summer. However, obviously, this didn’t happen and the midfielder has remained at Barcelona.

Now, the IBTimes claim that he’s finally come to terms with the fact that his future doesn’t lie with the La Liga giants and he’s allegedly looking for a move in January to a team where he can get regular football.

The report says that the 30-year-old will sit down with his agent soon to discuss his options.

Barca supposedly tried to offload the Turkey international, who’s just come out of a brief retirement, during the summer since they want to make back some of the £30.5m they spent on the former Atletico Madrid man in 2015. However, he decided to stay put despite the links with the Chinese Super League and Arsenal.

Speaking recently, Turan admitted that his lack of playing time at Barcelona isn’t ideal.

“It has been a while since I played and it is not easy,” he said. “It means games become as much a mental question as a physical one.

“I want to do what the coach asks of me and form a part of a historic day like this one.”

The midfielder is yet to make an appearance for his club this season. However, he did feature for an hour against Iceland during Turkey’s 2018 World Cup qualifier, which his country lost 3-0.

Last term, the former Atletico man, who still has just under three years left on his current deal, made just 14 starts in La Liga.
