Arsenal will have to pay Hirving Lozano’s £30m release clause if they want to sign him in January, according to reports.

The 22-year-old Mexican has scored six goals in six league appearances for PSV Eindhoven after moving from Pachuca.

According to ESPN, Arsenal are interested in signing him in January, but will have to pay his full £30m release clause.

Lozano only joined PSV in the summer from Mexican side Pachuca, where he scored 43 goals in 149 appearances.

30 of those goals came in the last two seasons as he enjoyed a growing reputation as one of Mexico’s most promising players.

He has 22 caps for Mexico, and recently scored in their World Cup qualifier against Trinidad and Tobago.

He can play on either flank or down the middle.

With the futures of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez very much in doubt, Arsenal will be in the market for a new attacker.

Lozano seems to be an exciting talent and would cost less than many of the other players Arsenal have been linked with, but isn’t as proven.

The Eredivisie isn’t the strongest league around, and top clubs have to be wary of buying players with prolific scoring records there.
