Arsenal and Benfica are both reportedly interested in signing Manchester United goalkeeper, Dean Henderson.
According to the Sun, Arsenal and Benfica are both lying in wait with United yet to tie Henderson down to a new deal.
The 20-year-old’s contract with the Red Devils expires in May and it seems that the goalkeeper could allegedly be looking elsewhere for first team football since he’s enjoyed successful loan spells at Grimsby last term and Shrewsbury this season.
The England u21 international has already made 10 League One appearances for the Shrews and one in the League Cup. In that time, he’s kept five clean sheets, which isn’t bad at all.
If Arsenal were to sign him, they would have to pay United a fee, despite Henderson being out of contract, as they’re a rival Premier League club. Benfica, on the other hand, would be able to get him for free if they’re genuinely interested.
The shot-stopper signed for United from Carlisle in 2011 at the age of 14.
He made his senior debut in February 2016 when he was recalled from a short loan spell at Stockport County due to an injury crisis at his parent club. However, he just sat on the bench. He’s yet to make an appearance for United’s first team.
