Barcelona B winger Jose Manuel Arnaiz is already being linked with Arsenal.

The 22-year-old joined Barcelona’s B team from Valladolid in the summer, but is already being linked with a move abroad.

According to Mundo Deportivo (via the Mirror), Arsenal have made an enquiry for the winger and are considering paying his £17.8m release clause.

Arnaiz has played nine times for Barcelona B in Spain’s second division, scoring four and setting up three.

His good form earned him a call-up to the Barcelona first team for their Copa del Rey first leg match against Real Murcia. He scored one of the goals in a 3-0 win.

One suspects that Arnaiz will not be leaving Barcelona just months after he signed for them.

He played 35 times for Valladolid last season, scoring 12 goals and evidently catching the attention of Barcelona’s scouts.

He made the switch for £3m. If Arsenal are interested in him, they will have missed out on a bargain price.

Arnaiz signed a three year contract with Barcelona and his release clause could double should he sign a new one, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Manchester United, Napoli, Juventus and Bayern Munich have also been credited with an interest in the left winger.
