We asked you guys on Twitter who your favourite current Arsenal player is and why, and the results seem to be pretty conclusive.
Despite the 2017/18 season feeling like it only started last week, we’re now 10 games deep and Arsenal are fifth in the Premier League table.
Before the campaign started, if you’d have asked most fans who their favourite Gunner was, they probably would have given you a predictable answer like Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez or Aaron Ramsey.
However, it turns out that most fans’ favourite is a player who’s been at the club since 2013 and has become our most consistent star: Nacho Monreal.
Not only is Nacho massively popular here at Cannon Towers, he’s also totally loved by you guys, and we can understand why. The former Malaga defender has scored twice and saved our skin countless times. For example, that goal-line clearance against BATE Borisov in the Europa League.
As a few of your called him: Mr. Reliable. That’s what we need right now.
Naco Monreal, he has developed into a very sold defender, his performance at times goes unnoticed, 87%100 every game he plays.

Monreal should be captain. Giroud vice captain. Kolasinac security detail! Kos is no leader of men!

definitely Nacho Monreal. Always does great, so underrated, great team player.

Monreal decent and consistent. But kolasinac has been a great surprise

Monreal because he performs constantly week in week out so underrated COYG

Monreal is Mr Reliable but Kolasinac is having a big impact and proving a shrewd signing.

My favorite overall it’s Santi. Love the man. Right now Nacho gets a huge shout tho. Mr reliable.

In second place was new boy, Sead Kolasinac. Not only has he bedded in instantly, the Bosnia international scored and assisted during Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Swansea on Saturday, so his quality is still fresh in everyone’s minds. Plus, he’s a tank.
For me it’s a toss up between Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac. Mr Reliable and The Tank. pic.twitter.com/zXRzy1Ou5c

Kolasinac. Dude is a beast and apart from sanchez is the only player that opposing players genuinely fear. Cannon leg and good on the volley

Kolasinac, doesnt ever give up and is a beast
— Peder Dukstad (@Pederduks91) October 30, 2017
Kolasinac – doesn’t make errors, looks like he genuinely cares about the club and the results, puts in a shift, is physically intimidating

In third place was a name I didn’t expect to see: Olivier Giroud. Despite only scoring once in the Premier League this season, many of you lot still class him as your favourite player. Why? The striker can – usually – score goals and consistently manages to stay fit, which is pretty rare for a Gunner. The 31-year-old also seems to genuinely love Arsenal.
Giroud at the moment, a lively & entertaining option when the dread kicks in

Giroud. Never lets us down and always fit.

Giroud. His heart is Arsenal, he plays for the badge no matter what

Other players mentioned were Santi Cazorla, Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere and Laurent Koscielny.
