Arsenal and Inter Milan are interested in Atlanta United midfielder Miguel Almiron, according to reports.

The Paraguayan international has been impressing in MLS and could soon be on the way to Europe with Arsenal and Inter Milan both interested. That’s according to Calciomercato, who believe Almiron could be worth up to £18m.

The 23-year-old plays as an attacking-midfielder or winger for Atlanta United and has helped the expansion club to an unlikely third place in the Eastern Conference. He has nine goals and eight assists to his name, making him one of the league’s best performers, reports the Mirror.

Almiron also has 10 caps for Paraguay and has been a part of their World Cup qualifying campaign. Although Arsenal are being linked, the small chance of securing a work permit for him would make this transfer difficult.

Almiron played for Lanus in Argentina before making the switch to Atlanta United in the States. He currently works under former Barcelona manager Gerardo “Tata” Martino.

Atlanta were expected to struggle during their first season in MLS, but have surprised many with their form. They’re now set to participate in the play-offs and compete for the MLS Cup.
