Arsenal will make a £20m offer for Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup, according to the Daily Sabah.

The Turkish midfielder has enjoyed a successful time at Besiktas since leaving Arsenal in 2012, and has recently been linked with a return to the Emirates Stadium.

According to a report in the Daily Sabah [hard copy], Arsenal recently sent scouts to watch Ozyakup and are considering bidding £20m to make the move happen.

They also report that Ozyakup has just 10 months remaining on his current contract with Besiktas and could leave on a free transfer.

The Turkish international has won two Super League titles with Besiktas and is currently their club captain.

He joined Arsenal as a teenager from AZ Alkmaar in 2008, but made just two senior appearances for the club.

He’s made 191 appearances for Besiktas, scoring 27 goals and assisting 47. He’s also won 30 caps for Turkey.

Arsenal may be looking at a new creative midfielder due to the uncertain future of Mesut Ozil.

The German’s contract expires in the summer, while Arsene Wenger admitted that he could sell him in January.

However, Ozil’s agent, Erkut Sout, has recently said that talks between player and club have been positive.
