Arsenal, along with Tottenham, may try again for Riyad Mahrez when the January window opens, according to reports.

If Mahrez is leaving Leicester, you can be the sure the first club he’s linked to will be Arsenal. The second, Tottenham.

The Algerian was reportedly a target for Arsenal last summer as speculation was rife about the future of Alexis Sanchez.

However, despite months of reports claiming Arsenal would try to sign him, nothing happened.

That hasn’t stopped the Mirror from resurrecting the link, though, as they claim both Arsenal and Tottenham will duke it out for him in January.

Leicester valued him at £50m during the summer, but the report suggests they could sell for just £30m.

Mahrez wanted to leave Leicester during the summer but Leicester’s asking price successfully scared clubs off.

Since then, Leicester have had a poor start to the season, winning one of their first seven games.

Mahrez has featured in every game and has managed two assists and no goals.

His name will surely come up plenty more times as Arsenal look set to lose Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez in the summer.

Arsenal will need replacements for the both of them, and Mahrez will inevitably be listed as an option.
