Incredibly, Arsenal have won exactly the same amount of points as Chelsea in London derbies since the start of the Premier League era.

That’s according to talkSPORT, who put together a top 10 list of the most successful London clubs against their rivals from the capital, ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Watford and Chelsea’s with Palace. Obvisouly, neither of those two added to their tallies after the weekend’s games, but Palace and Watford certainly did.

Here’s the list in full:

  1. Arsenal/Chelsea – 438 points
  2. Tottenham Hotspur – 325 points
  3. West Ham United – 235 points
  4. Fulham – 109 points
  5. Wimbledon – 97 points
  6. Charlton Athletic – 86 points
  7. Crystal Palace – 82 points
  8. Queens Park Rangers – 71 points
  9. Watford – 32 points

It’s not particularly surprising to see Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham at the top of the list, considering the rest of the teams have spent time in the lower divisions (where many of them still are).

In fact, that just highlights how badly Spurs have done, considering they’ve been in the same division for the entirety of the Premier League era and still managed over 100 points fewer than the Gunners and the Blues.

In recent years that’s started to change, with Spurs picking up a result or two against Arsenal and Chelsea, although this season they’ve set things off with another defeat to Conte’s side at home.

However they’ve still got a massive amount of catching up to do, and the top two still tend to put away the remaining London teams without much trouble, this weekend excluded.
