Sergio Agüero’s injury looks likely to leave him out of November’s meeting with Arsenal, having suffered a road accident in September.

Agüero was in a car crash last week and broke his rib. According to the Standard, Argentina’s national team doctor evaluated him, and thinks he’ll miss a longer period than initially expected.

Donato Villani told TyC Sports: “He’s feeling very bad because he was really looking forward to coming to play and this incident, which had nothing to do with him, left him out of the two games.

“He’s going to be off the pitch for a month and a half. He can’t move in his house, nor get in and out of the car. He seemed very down to me because we wanted to be here.”

I feel Aguero is fortunate that he’ll be able to make a full recovery after his road accident, although I don’t believe the club are likely to rush him back into action until they’re sure he’s ready to return.

The 29-year-old has been on fire for City, scoring seven goals in eight games in all competitions and sitting in second place in the Premier League top scorers. Arsenal won’t be too upset that Aguero won’t feature against them next month.

City’s centre-forward has scored six times in 11 meetings with the Gunners, although his absence may not even be felt by the Sky Blues. With the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Kevin de Bruyne starting the new campaign in fine form, Arsenal will still have their work cut out.
