6 things we learned from Arsenal’s October

October’s almost over and Arsenal are now 10 Premier League games deep, but have we learned anything?

Arsenal face Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League on Thursday for their first match of what will likely be a very tricky November.

October was another roller coaster ride. However, the Gunners only lost one match over all competitions: Watford away.

We’re hanging in there in fifth in the Premier League table after facing Brighton, the Hornets and Everton, who we managed to beat 5-2 despite going 1-0 behind in the first half.

Other than that, we’ve still got an 100% win record in the Europa League after a victory over Red Star, and we progressed – just about – to the fifth round of the League Cup. Again, after going 1-0 behind.

We’ve also seen certain players begin to stand out more than the others, whether that’s because of their ability or consistency in general.

Here’s five things we learned from Arsenal’s October.

Sead Kolasinac could be signing of the season

Kolasinac scored his first Premier League goal against Swansea on Saturday and assisted the second from Aaron Ramsey.

The 24-year-old has quickly become an Arsenal fan favourite and he was a best throughout October.

Rambo netted his 49th and 50th goals for Arsenal in October against Everton and Swansea.

The Wales international definitely seems to have kicked things up a notch this month.

Nacho Monreal is indeed Mr. Reliable

Nacho has once again been Arsenal’s most consistent player throughout October. He even managed to score the equaliser at Goodison Park, which led to the Gunners’ 5-2 victory.

Eddie Nketiah is the future

All aboard the hype-train, Eddie’s in town.

The 18-year-old striker came on in the 85th minute while Arsenal were 1-0 down against Norwich in the League Cup.

The ex-Chelsea ace scored an equaliser with his first touch, forcing the tie to extra time, and then put the Gunners 2-1 up.

Olivier Giroud and Jack Wilshere were born to play alongside each other

Remember that goal against Nrowich in 2013 when Wilshere and Giroud linked up perfectly to score that stunning goal?

They did it again against Red Star in the Europa League.

Not only that but the pair seem to have a real on-pitch connection. It would be a shame if we didn’t see more of that in November.

Room for improvement

Going 1-0 behind and having to fight back to win the games does show ‘character’, as everyone keeps saying. However, we’re going behind in the first place because of silly mistakes.

There’s still plenty to improve upon.
