Udinese midfielder, Antonin Barak, has revealed that he’s an Arsenal fan who ‘went crazy’ for Thierry Henry when he was younger.

Barak has revealed that a move to Arsenal ‘appeals’ to him as he ‘went crazy’ for Thierry Henry as a youngster.

“I was and still am an Arsenal fan. I went crazy for Thierry Henry. These days, I watch Andrés Iniesta for his vision and first touch,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness).

He added, “I know that I need to develop, and it doesn’t bother me where I end up. We’ll see. In Italy, there are a lot of important teams. In Europe, Arsenal and Barcelona appeal to me.”

The 22-year-old only signed for Udinese in January and still has until June 2022 on his contract. Therefore, I doubt the Serie A team will be looking to offload the midfielder they paid €3m for less than a year ago.

The Czech Republic international has quickly established himself in the Italian side’s first team already, making nine appearances and scoring two this season.

However, as an Arsenal fan who models himself on Andrés Iniesta, a preference to move to either north London or Barcelona at some point in the future is to be expected.

Barak previously played for Slavia Prague. He was only there for one season but he scored nine and assisted five in 42 appearances.

Before that, he was at Příbram.

The midfielder has been capped five times for the Czech Republic, making his international debut in November 2016, and has impressively scored four goals in that time.

Barak is clearly a talented youngster whether he plays for Arsenal one day or not.
