Lukas Podolski has never made a secret of his admiration for former side Arsenal, and he took to Twitter ahead of tonight’s Europa League meeting to tell the fans he’s “still in love” with the London club.

The 32-year-old, who joined J1 League side Vissel Kobe in the summer, played for both FC Koln and Arsenal, and admitted on Twitter that he would love to play 45 minutes for each side.

Podolski revealed his love and admiration for boyhood club Koln and the Gunners who are in his heart, admitting he wants a draw and can’t pick a winner between them.

The former German international joined Arsenal from FC Koln in 2012 for £13.5m, and ended up making more than 80 appearances for the Gunners, scoring 31 goals. He joined Inter Milan on a season-long loan in January 2015, before sealing a permanent move with Galatasaray six months later.

And most recently, Podolski made the switch from Gala to Vissel Kobe of the Japanese League.

He became a fan-favourite during his time at Arsenal due to his jovial attitude and allegiance to the Gunners. To this day, he still talks about his former club and speaks to supporters on social media.

I think Podolski will be watching tonight’s Europa League clash between Koln and Arsenal and won’t know which side to root for.
