Arsenal have been boosted by Mesut Ozil’s return to training ahead of this evening’s clash with West Bromwich Albion.

The German international has been out of action for three weeks with a knee injury, with his last appearance being in Arsenal 3-0 win against Bournemouth earlier in the month, reports the Express.

Ozil could finally start in a three-pronged attack featuring Alexis Sanchez and Alexandre Lacazette, but in my opinion, it’s more likely he will be named on the bench as his match fitness might be questionable.

I think Arsene Wenger might feel his side can get a result at home to West Brom without their chief playmaker operating from the start, so Ozil may only come off the bench late on if the Gunners need a goal.

With the Baggies likely to play for a draw, I believe, defending deep and being compact, it may take a brilliant passer of the ball to unlock their defence.

It will be important to find an excuse to give him game time tonight, but I can’t see the Arsenal manager risking injury by giving the 28-year-old too much too soon – especially with more important games to come.

From what I’ve seen on social media, supporters are dying to see Ozil, Alexis and Lacazette in attack, but they may have to wait a little longer.

Nevertheless, having the playmaker back in action is a boost, and having him as an option on the bench should help the Gunners pick up all three points this evening.
