Marc Bola, Takuma Asano, Kelechi Nwakali and Lucas Perez all featured for their clubs last weekend.

Arsenal had four players featuring on the weekend, reports Arsenal youth, while others were unused substitutes.

Bola started and played 90 minutes for Bristol Rovers as they lost 3-0 to Wigan. An early red card to centre-back Ryan Sweeney put the visitors in a tough spot and helped Wigan sweep to an easy victory.

In Europe, Takuma Asano continued his role as substitute, coming on in the 72nd minute to help Stuttgart secure a 1-0 victory over Wolfsburg. Kelechi Nwakali also appeared as a late sub for VVV-Venlo, as they earned a credible point away to Vitesse.

Lucas Perez’s Deportivo homecoming hasn’t gone quite as well as expected. He came on in the 77th minute in their game against Real Betis, but couldn’t overturn a 2-1 defeat. It’s Deportivo’s second defeat since Lucas’ return, leaving them with just a point from their opening four games.

Several Arsenal players were unused subs. Cohen Bramall and Stephy Mavididi were left on the bench for Birmingham and Preston respectively as they played each other. Preston ran out 3-1 winners, a result which ended the short reign of Harry Redknapp as Birmingham manager.

Emi Martinez was on the bench again for Getafe as they lost 2-1 to Barcelona. Joel Campbell wasn’t involved for Real Betis.
