Alexandre Lacazette has made one Irish Paddy Power punter £375k richer this week.

A Paddy Power punter in Dundalk, Ireland, has woken up £375k richer after correctly guessing the first goalscorer in six Premier League games over the weekend.

As well as guessing Lacazette would score first against West Brom, the unnamed punter chose Leroy Sane for Manchester City v Crystal Palace, Romelu Lukaku for United v Southampton, Alvaro Morata for Chelsea v Stoke, Mohamed Salah for Liverpool against Leicester, and Tomer Hemed for Brighton v Newcastle.

The winner was apparently one of three people still in the running to win the prize on Monday but the other two picked Alexis Sanchez and Hal Robson-Kanu respectively.

I bet the person who picked Alexis was fuming since Laca poached his free-kick.

This isn’t the first time that a huge sum has been won by a lucky punter when it comes to betting on the Premier League. Back in 2016, an anonymous gambler placed £100 with Betfair on Leicester winning the title… we all know how that ended. The lucky person won £200k.

The season before, Dean Clay apparently won £92k on a 14-game accumulator.

So you see, there is hope. However, the reason these stories are publicised is to get more punters making bets. Remember, the odds are high for a reason and if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.
