Jack Wilshere made his first Arsenal appearance in over a year on Thursday night.
The midfielder received a warm welcome from the Arsenal fans when came on as a second half substitute in the 3-1 win over Cologne.
It was his first appearance in an Arsenal shirt for over a year, having spent last season on loan at Bournemouth.
His Arsenal career has been blighted by injuries and many were surprised to still see him at the club.
Wenger, though, is a big admirer of Wilshere and is always willing to give him a chance to prove he can stay fit.
The Daily Star have provided a list of all the injuries Wilshere has suffered since his breakthrough into the Arsenal first team in 2010.
His most notable injury, purely for how defining it turned out to be, came in a pre-season game in 2011.
A broken ankle sustained in the Emirates Cup against New York Red Bull kept Wilshere out for the entirety of the 2011/12 season.
Ankle injuries would plague Wilshere throughout the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons. He faced another lengthy spell out after a poor challenge from Paddy McNair in the 2014/15 season.
He barely featured in the season after that thanks to a broken fibula picked up in pre-season.
He was then loaned to Bournemouth for the 2016/17 campaign, where he would play regularly before suffering a leg fracture late in the season.
There have been many false dawns for Wilshere over the years and in total, he has missed 155 games through injury. Or, if you prefer, 1,103 days.
The hope will now be that he remain fit for the season and earn himself a new contract at Arsenal.
