Ivan Gazidis has officially joined UEFA’s Executive Committee.

Gazidis, along with Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli, has been officially named as a UEFA Executive Committee member at its 13th Extraordinary Congress at the President Wilson Hotel in Geneva, Switzerland.

The chief executive sits as a full member for a four-year term of office, as does Agnelli.

Gazidis has been at Arsenal since November 2008 and is currently the fourth-highest paid chief executive in the Premier League.

Despite rumours that the 53-year-old could be leaving for the US in the summer after reports surfaced that he wasn’t happy with Arsene Wenger remaining Arsenal manager, it seems that Gazidis’s place at the club is just as strong as it once was.

UEFA also ratified José Juan Pintó Sala, a Spanish lawyer and Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) arbitrator, and Charles Deguara, Auditor General of the National Audit Office in Malta.

While Thomas Hollerer (member of the UEFA Appeals Body), Ivan Robba (UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector), Edvinas Eimontas (UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector) and Nebojša Ivković (UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector) were also ratified after being appointed in 2016 and June 2017.

Alexey Sorokin has been elected as a new European member of the FIFA Council for a term of office.

Proposed amendments to the UEFA Statutes were also approved.
