Fenerbahce could reportedly attempt to sign Mesut Ozil if Ali Koc becomes the Turkish club’s president.

Ali Koc is reportedly looking to become Fenerbahce’s president and if he does, the wealthy Turkish businessman is said to be keen on bringing Ozil on board as he looks to make his first marquee signing.

Ozil has been linked with Fenerbahce in the past and has even admitted to not just being a fan but being open to a move in the future, which probably adds fuel to the fire.

The German international is of Turkish decent so you can understand why he would be such a huge signing for the club and why he could potentially see himself ending up there.

Since the 28-year-old is in the final year of his Arsenal deal, he can sign a pre-contract agreement with a non-English club in January. However, the Gunners might decide to cash in on him then rather than allow him to walk away for free next summer.

The playmaker has also been linked with a move to Manchester United as Jose Mourinho, his former manager as Real Madrid, is a big fan.

From a fan’s point of view, if Ozil really is leaving, I’d much prefer he signed for Fenerbahce than United. Obviously. Who wouldn’t?
