Mesut Ozil has been given a higher rating than several Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs stars, and the anger it’s causing is pretty funny.
Ozil has been rated 88 on FIFA 18, which is the same as Bayern Munich’s Jérôme Boateng and higher than PSG’s Marco Verratti.
It’s also higher than United’s Paul Pogba and Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante, who have been given a rating of 87. Tottenham’s Dele Alli and Liverpool’s Sadio Mane have been given 84.
Pogba is a favourite among United fans. Perhaps it’s because he’s actually quite good but I feel as if a lot of it is because the Red Devils paid almost £90m to bring the 24-year-old back to Manchester so they feel rather protective of him.
Therefore, as you can probably predict, United fans are fuming that their star has been ranked below Arsenal ‘flop’ Ozil.

Perhaps the German international has been rated higher than the likes of Kante, who won the title with Chelsea last season, because of his experience. He’s been playing at the top level for almost a decade.
Perhaps it’s because the playmaker did actually score and assist more than Pogba in fewer appearances last season (12 goals, 14 assists) despite apparently being terrible.
Or perhaps EA are massive trolls.
Either way, it’s pretty funny.
