Arsenal fans were left asking the same question to Mesut Ozil after the 28-year-old stole the show for Germany in last night’s World Cup qualifier.
It was certainly a masterful performance from the playmaker, and one which seemed to show that when he has the support of the fans and the team, he’s one of the most dangerous players around.
And the Mirror highlighted the fans that think Ozil has an alter ego who turns up for Arsenal matches and not for his country.
Would love the Germany Ozil to play for Arsenal and not his long lost Turkish twin.

The Ozil in Germany is different from the one you see in Arsenal.

Others noted that the main difference between Özil playing for Germany and playing for Arsenal is the group of attacking players he’s creating chances for.
Arsenal’s forwards have been wasteful in recent weeks, in particular Danny Welbeck, which supporters haven’t failed to notice:
Mesut Ozil statement tonight for Germany. Arsene Wenger should sign better players and stop fielding Welbeck

Ozil balling for Germany again. Cant stress it enough how much Arsenal & Wenger hold him back.

Whatever the reason for the difference in his goal and assist output for Arsenal and Germany, the former Real Madrid man needs to showcase his international form in a club shirt, with how poorly the Gunners have started the new season.
Already six points off the Premier League leaders, currently sitting 16th in the table with three points from as many games, it’s been a poor start by Arsenal. Özil currently rules the roost in chance creation but is yet to bag himself an assist.
