Sead Kolašinac has been named Arsenal’s Player of the Month for August, and people were quick to highlight one incident that reflects badly on manager Arsene Wenger.
New signing Kolašinac was voted player of the month by fans on the official Arsenal website, just days after he was dropped by Wenger in the 4-0 defeat against Liverpool, seemingly due to poor form, and supporters on social media couldn’t resist having a dig.
It's amazing what 90 minutes on the bench can do these days

One fan thought he might have figured out the answer though, suggesting that the award win might not have been “despite” being dropped for the Liverpool game, but “because” he was one of the few who escaped tarnishing their reputation by being involved in the match.
What do you mean despite, it because

The Bosnian certainly made a good start to August, coming on and scoring against Chelsea, before assisting Danny Welbeck against Leicester, both of which he did from centre-back. So after winning the Community Shield and beating Leicester in the league, it wouldn’t have been much of a surprise to see him win the award.
Kolasinac has made a better start to the season than most, for me at least, so congratulations to him on the award.
