Petr Cech believes Arsenal can beat Chelsea on Sunday.
Arsenal go into Sunday’s game with a less than stellar league record against Chelsea.
However, despite this record, Cech feels Arsenal have what it takes to beat Chelsea.
“We have to draw a line under what happened and move forward,” Cech told Sky Sports.
“We played Chelsea in the Community Shield and in the FA Cup final last season, so we know we can beat them.
“They know they lost two games against us that they were not happy to lose, so this is something we have to use to our advantage.”
Arsenal have won three of their last four games against Chelsea in all competitions.
We beat them 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium, a result which served as the catalyst for Chelsea’s title winning form. We then outplayed them in the FA Cup final, and went on to win the Community Shield as well.
Arsenal are certainly capable of beating Antonio Conte’s Chelsea. If they replicate those performances on Sunday, they’ll stand every chance of doing it again.
Unfortunately, the ongoing issue with Arsenal is that they can’t produce those types of performances consistently, and are often found wanting on every level when they travel to play the big teams.
If Arsenal are serious about challenging for the title, they can’t suffer another humiliating defeat away from home.
