Arsenal have received a major boost ahead of this weekend’s Premier League clash with Bournemouth after Alexis Sanchez has recovered from an ankle knock picked up on international duty.

The Chilean international was spotted leaving training last weekend with an ice pack on his left ankle, leading to fears that he could miss Chile’s qualifier against Bolivia. However, according to the Daily Mail, Alexis has shaken off the knock and took full part in the national team’s latest training session.

Chile are currently fourth in the South American qualifying section and need a win to keep fifth placed Argentina at bay. They lost their last game 3-0 to Paraguay, a game where Alexis wasn’t at his best.

It’s be a difficult start to the season for him. Flu delayed his return to Arsenal training at the start of the month. An abdominal injury then ruled him out for a further two weeks before he got his first minutes on the season against Liverpool.

After that, he was supposed to complete a transfer to Manchester City, but that didn’t go according to plan, either. As usual, Alexis will return to Arsenal late this week and may be not be able to feature against Bournemouth on Saturday, although the latest news does boost his chances of playing.
