Did you know that Arsenal have only ever played Bournemouth five times in their history?
The Gunners have only ever encountered the Cherries five times in their history with four of those in the Premier League.
The first time they met in 1987 was in the League Cup, which Arsenal won 3-0 with goals from Kevin Richardson, Alan Smith, and a penalty from Michael Thomas.
Since, the Gunners have won another three times, scoring five in two home matches and clinching six points, 10 in total.
Last time Arsenal faced Bournemouth, however, it was a very different story and while a draw doesn’t look bad on paper, the 3-3 tie could easily have ended in another humiliating loss for Arsene Wenger.
Until that match, Arsenal had only conceded once against the Cherries.
Arsenal traveled down south to face Eddie Howe’s side in January and ended up going 2-0 down in the first half through Charlie Daniels and a penalty from Callum Wilson.
In the 58th minute, Ryan Fraser made it 3-0 and the entire footballing world was once again laughing at Arsenal.
Although the Gunners did come back thanks to goals from Alexis Sanchez, Lucas Perez and then Olivier Giroud in the final minute of normal time, it was still a bad day at the office, which wasn’t made any easier by Giroud’s ridiculous celebration.
Hopefully Arsenal put in a different performance at the Emirates on Saturday.
