Mauro Icardi doesn’t plan to leave Inter Milan, according to his agent, after links to Arsenal among others.

According to talkSPORT, the Argentinian striker is a target for Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, although whether we can trust this information when the article incorrectly spells Icardi’s name (Hint: It’s not “Icardo”) is debatable.

However, they have reported direct quotes from Icardi’s wife and agent Wanda, which hopefully should be a bit more trustworthy.

She told Argentinian television station Telefe: “We’ve renewed his contract with Inter three times because when other clubs have wanted Icardi, the club have done everything to keep him, naturally by improving the terms of his deal!

“Our relationship with their board is great, especially on a personal level. For example, when the girls were born, the club gave us a lot of gifts.

“For us, as a family, it’s better for us to stay in Milan because the children want to stay there. That aside, Mauro’s very happy and he’s also the captain. It’s not our intention to leave Milan, but of course, if Mauro changes city for work purposes, we’d follow him.”

Last season, Icardi scored 26 goals in 41 matches, as well as providing seven assists. He is one of Inter’s key players and captain of the club.

The 24-year-old appears to have started the new campaign in even better form, scoring four goals between his two matches against Fiorentina and AS Roma to lead Inter to two wins in Serie A and second in the table behind Juventus.

Icardi is undoubtedly going to draw some significant interest if he carries on in the same vain in the future. But with the window now closed and Icardi reportedly happy where he is, a move will have to wait for now.
