Arsenal interested in 15-year-old Valencia wonderkid

Manchester United are reportedly set to beat Arsenal to rumoured target, 15-year-old Ferhat Cogalan.

Despite being just 15-years-old, Cogalan is being eyed by both United and Arsenal, claim the Sun.

Jose Mourinho has allegedly been watching the wonderkid for a year as former Red Devil, Phil Neville, encountered him while coaching at his club Valencia.

The teenager, who’s yet to sign his first professional contact, is apparently ‘head and shoulders’ above his 15-year-old teammates and is supposedly being tipped for big things. Although they always say that, don’t they?

Cogalan has come through the Spanish club’s academy, which he joined at the age of 12.

Valencia’s academy has helped develop the likes of Real Madrid midfielder Isco and Manchester City’s David Silva. Therefore, when people say that this kid is the real deal, he probably is.

The young attacking midfielder’s father insists that he’s in no hurry to move his son along as he still has four years left on his deal with Valencia. However, Cogalan Sr did admit that interest from United could turn his head.

“We are in no hurry, as Ferhat is under contract until 2021,” he said.

“But when a club like Manchester United invites us, it is logical that we study their proposal.”

It seems that although Arsenal may have been keeping an eye on the Turkey u16 international, United are firmly in the driver’s seat.

AC Milan and Galatasaray are also said to be interested.
