Arsenal fans want to see Reiss Nelson start over Alexis Sanchez against Bournemouth in Saturday’s Premier League meeting at the Emirates Stadium.

Nelson is the most exciting player to emerge from Arsenal’s academy since Jack Wilshere, and already there’s a desire to see him play for the first-team.

With Alexis not fully fit and focussed on Arsenal, while Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott are not everyone’s favourite, there could be an opportunity for the 17-year-old to start.

We conducted a poll on Twitter and the Gunners supporters voted accordingly.

Nelson has been in hot form this season so far. He impressed during pre-season for Arsenal, and then went on to score five goals in three games for the u23s, which earned him a nomination for the Premier League 2’s Player of the Month award.

He recently scored for the England u19s as well. Alexis, meanwhile, has had two poor games for Chile and doesn’t appear to be in the best frame of mind to be playing at the moment.

It’s likely that if he’s not ready for the Bournemouth, either Welbeck or Walcott will get a game. However, people understandably want to see an bright prospect get an opportunity and get excited about something.
