Arsenal fans appear to feel pretty pessimistic ahead of the Gunners’ Carabao Cup clash against Doncaster Rovers on Wednesday evening.

After asking you guys how you feel the Gunners’ first League Cup clash of the season will go on Wednesday night, it seems that Gooners aren’t exactly feeling optimistic.

While the majority of fans (53%) do expect Arsenal to win within 90 minutes, out of those who voted, a considerable 47% reckon Arsene Wenger’s side could lose to Donny.

So, why is this?

The stage is set for Wenger to pick a young side with the odd senior player thrown in for good measure and Arsenal to still win comfortably.

Arsenal have only ever lost once to Donny and that was in 1902.

Darren Ferguson’s side have only managed to earn six points in eight League One matches this term, despite their success in the cup so far, which leaves the Rovers struggling in 19th the season after getting promoted.

What’s more, the Gunners put on a pretty convincing display against Chelsea on Sunday and, despite coming away with a 0-0 draw, have been showing massive improvements since the 4-0 Liverpool loss before the international break.

However, Arsenal do have a habit of getting out of the League Cup by lower league opposition.

Last season it was Southampton who knocked us out which… fair enough. However, the season before it was Sheffield Wednesday, in 2012/13 it was Bradford City, and who could forget our humiliating defeat to Birmingham City in the 2010/11 final?

Plus, the starting XI Wenger puts out against Donny will most likely be very different to the one we saw against Chelsea at the weekend, with plenty of young, inexperienced blood and potentially rusty players.

Come to think of it, I don’t blame the 47% of Gooners who voted that we’ll lose!
