Mesut Özil put in a much improved performance against Bournemouth along with the rest of the team, and Arsenal took to Twitter to ask fans what they thought of his performance.
Reaction was positive, but many were keen to highlight Bournemouth’s poor performance and the fact that Arsenal were very quiet on social media after their previous defeat to Liverpool. Others fear he will fail to replicate such a performance against Chelsea on Sunday.
What did you make of @MesutOzil1088's display in #AFCvAFCB? https://t.co/e07AfbUdXC

This fan summed it up best. Whilst Mesut didn’t manage to get on the scoresheet or provide an assist, he was influential nonetheless, and the supporters clearly noticed that.
Although didn’t record an assist, created a lot of chances and controlled the play

However, other fans were quick to point out that Arsenal weren’t so keen to highlight Özil’s performances in the last couple of games.
They didn’t ask this question against Liverpool 😂

Meanwhile, some wanted to reserve judgement until they see how the 28-year-old performs against Chelsea at the weekend. The match will prove to be a tough game for the Gunners and Özil will be key if Arsenal want to take home the three points.
Another game against a championship level team where he turns it on and everyone raves about it 🙄 let’s see on Sunday away to Chelsea 👍🏻

But some fans were hopeful that Sunday’s match would bring a similar performance from the World Cup winner.
He did it last season so lets hope he can do it again

Perhaps anticipating the usual responses from Arsenal fans about Mesut Özil, this fan jokingly posted his own criticism of the German playmaker.
Not e nuff pashun!!

Overall, the fans seem to be happy enough with Özil’s performance, but it’s up to Mesut and the team to make sure they don’t have any reason to change that opinion this Sunday.
